Hey! It's Saturday

I didn't have time to start the thread today and thought for sure someone else would have popped on by now. LOL! Busy or sleeping in I guess!

Well the garage sale is over - thank God!!!! We made almost $600 and nearly everything sold. What few things were left Thomas dropped off at Goodwill. I didn't want any of it back in the garage again!!!! I have three people still coming to pick up things they paid for, but otherwise we're done. I'll tell ya, getting up at 6am, showering and setting up was HARD to do!!!

So between eBay and garage sale we made over $1200. Not too bad for a week's worth of hard work!

Now........to relax! I think I can handle that!! What are all of you doing???

Glad to see all of your hard work paid off, Jeannie!

I've got to get out & run a bunch of errands. This afternoon I'm taking my friend to Applebee's (NS friendly) & Mama Mia, so it should be a fun girls day!

I'm so jealous!!! I love Applebee's and I'm dying to see that movie too! I'm not much for musicals but LOVE LOVE LOVE Abba!!! Sounds like a super fun day! I forsee a lovely nap in my near future!

We are about to go to Lowes and Walmart to buy school supplies before our date night. I hate buying school supplies. At least the list gets shorter every year.

Jeannie... Congrats on the success of your sale & eBay! That's great.

I'm not doing very well lately with sticking to the diet. The social stuff is all geared towards food & alcohol. The willpower I used to have seems to have completely evaporated. I'm feeling rather poopy about myself right now.

I'll be in the corner giving myself a stern talking to (for the 20th time) and try to figure out a way to reclaim some of the desire I once had.

I am at work today. Only 1 day off this week
(yesterday) made the most of it, saw the new
Batman and went to lunch.
Jeannie .... congrats on all the extra cash. That
will come in handy for the move!!!
MaryBeth .... I have no inspirering words, but I
have been there. I hit my 1st goal of 40lbs last
Oct. right before a big trip to DC and then the
holidays and then my b-day and then a Laughlin
trip and so on and so on....I am finally back to
my 100% (its been since Oct!!!) I think what
worked for me was that I started serious exercise.
Not hard but just serious, no slacking. So far
its only been 2 weeks but that more then the last 9
months!!! Good Luck

I did a little research and found that I have 2 connections into the company: a sales guy that used to work at my old company, AND My hubby's bestest friend's father is on the company's scientific advisory board - so he's in with all of the executive staff. He's going to send my resume/cover letter directly to the CEO.

With all these connections, I might actually get a call back or even <gasp> an interview! Cross your fingers for me.

Thanks, WendySue. It's nice to know I'm not alone.

I really think the biggest thing for me has been being lax on the alcohol intake. Ever since Vegas, somehow it's been "OK" to have a glass of wine, a beer, whatever, then that leads to a handful of popcorn/peanuts, whatever's available. I just need to knock that crap off and get my booty moving more. I haven't worked this hard to not get where I want to be.

Good afternoon my new friends!

Everyone is napping so I thought I'd pop in and say hi! Matt and I are having a blast visiting with my family. Matt went with Grandpa to see the new Batman movie this morning. They loved it.

We spent the day at the Mall of America yesterday. Eight hours of shopping...my feet and ankles hurt soooooo bad. We had such a good time.

My brother, sis in law, and 2 neices and a nephew came over the other night. It feels good to be their favorite Aunt!!! And they loved messing with Matt. The girls were wrestling with Matt and I have pics that I'll show once I get them downloaded.

I must confess....the diet went totally out the window when I stepped foot off the airplane. And I had such great intentions.....But back on 100% Monday morning when we fly home. I'm kind of nervous to see what damage I did.

Jeannie - That's great your garage sale went so well!

Marybeth - I'm the same way on this vacation...The word diet doesn't exist.

Hello Everyone!!!

First, I think I see how maybe I'm "screwing" up the color. I'll work on it.

Sooo, w/ humidex it's a very hot, sticky 100 degrees, here today (it may, and probably will go higher, we are also under a heavy smog warning, uugh) *wilt* I don't have A/C, it makes me sick, (as advised by Dr, due to sinuses, allergies, migraines, etc, etc, etc). The fans are working overtime, all the doors are closed, so it's livable in the house. My house is an older, very well insulated bungalow/one floor, and it's surrounded by very large trees. This fair Irish skinned female is not goin' outside the door, until after 5PM (I burn, it looks ickky when it peels, plus it hurts a LOT.).

Now, on to the renovations, they're done...like H they are!!! New time frame, "maybe" Monday. *screaming, but w/ grin on face* I can't let this crap get to me, it too shall pass, as they say. They wanted to work today, they got an emphatic NO freakin' way!!!

I was a little low on food yesterday, maybe 90%...by the time I got home I couldn't it all in before bedtime (too, much running around to do w/ renos, there's always something that was ordered, but is now mysteriously unavailable...then you have to pick out something else, or another color, grrrrrr). I'm sure everyone knows what I mean, we've all been there. I did have 10+ glasses of water. I was down 1# this morning, but I doubt it will stay down for Sun weigh in...it sure did look "pretty", it put a wide smile on my face.

MaryBeth - I hear you on "lossing" the motivation or whatever. It seems since graduation and "all the rest" I'm having more and more difficult days. I start out each day with great plans and intentions...........but well I do understand. As far as the potential new job -- girl I have my fingers and toes crossed for ya. I hope something comes of this really soon. A really nice/interesting interview (along with a job offer) would be fantastic.

Lynette, enjoy your time with Matt and the family. Keep drinking the water and then some - Monday hit the ground running with a new resolve. Its so much harder when youre not home to stay on plan.

Gerilyn, so good to see you. I absolutely HATE home "renovations". I have said I will NOT do it again. But of course this morning I was looking at the new garage my husband wants to have to replace the one we currently have (that is about to fall down). Tomorrow will be "finalizing" our questions, and then Monday I have to go to the town to make sure I have everything I need to get a "demolition" then "construction" permit to get this garage done. If I'm really really lucky - maybe by Labor Day.

I love that "Lady of the Lounge Chair" --- I think you should change your "name" to that one. So cute. Anyway - I want to see the new hairstyle too. I have so much trouble deciding what I want - I usually just tell my hairdresser to "cut how you want". We decide on how short and she does the rest. One of these days I'll actually have "real" input. And I can't believe your kids are in school the beginning of August. We don't go back until AFTER Labor Day - now they are in until the end of June..........but now its "college" schedule but even then its not until LATE August/Early September.

Temperature today has been pretty bad - its 5:30 and its 95 degrees outside - I'm not even thinking about what it was earlier. When I went out to measure the existing garage and "space" for the new one - I could hardly breath it was so "hot and heavy" out there. I'm thinking about my next electric bill (sort of) (last one was over $500) but I refuse to turn off the A/Cs because I want to stay somewhat comfortable.

I hope I didn't forget anything. I'm hoping that tomorrows WI won't be too too bad for any of us. I am sure it won't be great for me, but I'm hoping that the iced green tea /decaf tea and the water I've been drinking - will help to counteract some of the "bad" things I've put in my mouth. I keep saying tomorrow I will be better - but I have to stop that - I have to be better NOW.

Hey Gang!

Sooooo tired over here. I did get a quickie nap in but not too long (about 30 mins). Going to bed early and HOPING to really get a good night's rest. With all the pills I take I should sleep 16 hours a night..........but I'm lucky to get 6 and not good ones usually. Taking an extra and calling it a day!

We enjoyed our dinner last night at Enrico's in Hayesville, GA. I had a house salad, brushetta, and chicken parmesan. I did not eat the pasta. I couldn't eat all my food. My stomach has changed. It was delicious. We did not have any dessert or a drink. We were both full.

Dh was so surprised to see the theater packed with men and women in the stadium seating theater. We were all in our 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's...no teenagers. Mama Mia is definitely a "girlie flick." I like Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosan. He cannot sing though. If you like a musical , you will like the movie. Even dh enjoyed some of the oldies. If you see the movie, stay for the credits. The 3 women sing two songs and then the 3 men join them for a song. It is hilarious, especially the clothes.

Jeannie, glad your garage sale and your ebay sale went well.

Pam, Hope you enjoyed the movie as much as I did.

We had to laugh every time the suave Mr. Brosnan started singing. We did enjoy it, but it ended up being kind of rough because of the circumstances. I wrote about it on my blog.
